News: Cape Town by bicycle

2010-03-15

Cape Town has welcomed a new way for tourists to get around – by bicycle. Three orange cycle cabs, similar to those found in Bangkok, have taken to the streets. The cabs can be found at the top of Adderley Street at the entrance to Government Avenue and are part of a Dutch/South African social engagement and commuter project to prepare the city for the arrival of the Dutch national soccer team for the World Cup. The cabs run as a hop-on and hop-off service, can be hailed on the streets and will cost around R10 to R20 depending on the destination.
