Nestled on the edge of an ancient rock cliff, Clifftop Exclusive Safari hideaway is an exquisite five star bush escape, situated a mere 2 and a half hours drive from Joburg, in the malari free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. Guests can self drive or transfer arranged from Hotels or Airports, alternatively charter into the landing strip and met on the ground near the East Gate Entrance where a further 20 minute bush drive gets you to the lodge.

Commanding a magnificent view of the Sterkstroom River valley, the wooden saligna decks off the main complex are complemented by the rimless pool infront and beyond. Enjoy refreshing sundowners from an extensive array of beverage options available from the bar, perhaps a sherry next to one of the many indoor fireplaces, or a cool cocktail on the pool deck while watching the magnificent sunset over the african horizon in the distance.

The cuisine at Clifftop is a superb fusion of African and Western flavours. Clifftop Lodge has a new general manager and his team (whilst specialising in an extensive variety of unique game dishes) offer a menu to surpass the expectations of the most discerning dinner. The accommodation is sure to offer total privacy, the facilities all en-suite, the indpendant honeymoon suite also offers you time in the plunge pool or lazing on the deck.

Awash with the sounds of the Sterkstroom River flowing below, each of the 8 luxury suites are en suite, with both indoor and outdoor showers. All suites also contain robes and slippers as well as imported bath salts and products. Sheer indulgence to spend some time away from the world yet surounded by the african luxuries one dreams of. Each individual accommodation room has its own private deck and plunge pool affording our guests the opportunity to watch game in the river valley and the opposing cliff face while basking in the privacy of their secluded suites.

Game viewing in open game drive vehicles allows you the opportunity of viewing fauna and flora, whilst traversing the undulating hills, following river courses and open savannah plains while absorbing the peace and tranquility of the African Bush available. The reserve is well stocked with lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, rhino, elephant, zebra, giraffe and plenty of other mammals, birds and trees which your game ranger would be thrilled to teach you.

For the young at heart, exhilarating bush safari walks with trained qualified and armed Game Rangers, conducted at your pace along the Sterkstroom River Valley, introducing you to the wonders of nature at ground level. Birds, trees, shrubs, insects and rocks will never be the same again!

The lodge has been designed for the purposes of catering for corporate workshops, merger & acquisition meetings, and other senior management meetings of a private nature. There is no cell phone or mobile reception at the lodge, the suites do contain satellite telephones for your convenience, certain locations within the reserve do have better services and voicemail or text messages can be attended too, a member of staff would be happy to assist should you require the facility while visiting Clifftop Lodge.
