Clarens town is a treasure waiting to be discovered. Explore the many Art and Craft shops, Art Galleries which offer the visitor a wide range of curios and original artwork. Another feature which adds to the picturesque atmosphere of the village is the many sandstone buildings. Dining is relaxing and intriguing whilst you meet the Clarens locals at one of the many restaurants. The food is always hot and tasty, and the restaurants buzz with atmosphere.

Relax and enjoy a traditional breakfast or have lunch under the trees, or enjoy a hearty dinner in one of the restaurants. There are a few pubs for those who enjoy a cold beer.

African Chapter Tours brings you our Clarens Meander where we have incorporated a few hours visiting a nearby animal sanctuary for the wildlife enthusiasts together with trendy and stylish overnight accommodation in Clarens as well as free time to explore Clarens village and nearby attractions at your own pace!

Clarens Meander includes:

  • 2 nights modern Clarens luxury accommodation
  • Full Breakfast daily at the 4 star Hotel
  • 1 hour hour Sanctuary drive at Lion`s Rock Big Cat Sancturary (approx 30 minutes from Clarens), 1242 ha sanctuary home to a rich variety of game and predators such as lion, leopard and tiger. There is also an optional Horseriding trail - on request. Game Drives available midweek only.

LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary, focuses primarily on big cats who were bred in captivity and subjected to negligent and unnatural conditions. As these animals cannot be returned to the wild, our purpose is to create a habitat, environment and care, in which these predators can live out the rest of their lives. Predators such as lion, leopard, tiger and carcal can be seen.

Lionsrock Sanctuary is a FOUR PAWS project, an internationally operating animal welfare organization which was founded in Vienna, Austria in 1988. Since then, FOUR PAWS has consistently and successfully focused on one goal: to help animals - abused due to economic, scientific or other reasons - to their rights. FOUR PAWS has initiated and established several projects regarding the protection of animals since then. The work of FOUR PAWS is accompanied by research centres as well as experts from appropriate scientific backgrounds. Major fields of interest are disaster relief and stray animals as well as protection and welfare of endangered species.
