Please find a brief summary of the Executive Heritage Tour based on 4 night/5 days.
Day 1:
Arrive in Johannesburg at approximately 8h30. You will be met on arrival by our representatives and welcomed to South Africa! We depart for our transfer to the Cradle of Humankind, one of the world`s most important fossil sites. We check in for breakfast at “Roots Restaurant” at the unique boutique hotel and prepare for the day ahead.
Depart for the Maropeng Museum, the exhibition introduces evolution, the formation of fossils, extinction, DNA, and the birth of the Earth and the Cradle of Humankind. From here we move onto the Sterkfontein Caves a few kilometers away for an informative view on ancestry during your first morning.
A Light platter Lunch will be served, whilst your engage on your tour of a private dig site, before we end the day by visiting a nearby cultural village for an evening of education and entertainment, along with superb atmosphere over traditional african cuisine!
Day 2:
Early morning breakfast and check out as we set out north into Limpopo - near Lephelale. This is an approximate 4 hour drive before we arrive at our Safari Lodge where you will be welcomed with refreshing drinks and an appetizing lunch.
Check in to your room and prepare to enjoy a schooling interaction along with dinner in the company of authentic Bushman of this are, where you will be invited to listen to their traditional storytelling and tales – a unique form of entertainment!
Day 3:
Early morning wake up call and 05h30 depart for our transfer to experience and educate around the traditions of the local people. This is created by a Morning Ga-bobidi Walking Safari, where we learn about the ancient trade routes and interesting pots which have been created in and around the area over 600 years ago.
At approximately 11h00 we return to the Ga-Bobidi base for a delicious breakfast. Returning to the lodge for some time to unwind and relax, a refreshing dip in the pool or stare out at the watering hole only a few metres away. You may also have the opportunity of catching a glimpse of the the local game quenching their thirst here! In the afternoon Lunch snacks will be served and you will have time to relax or take an afternoon siesta if you so wish!
High Tea is served at 16h00, before we set out for a Rhino Walking Safari. Here you will learn about one of the illustrious big 5 of Africa, in an experience by foot in your Authentic African Journey.
As the evening sets in after sunset, a bush dinner will be prepared and you can relish the taste of your delicious food and fondest experiences of the day!
Day 4:
Breakfast on the pool deck at 7 am, before check out and departure to our next stop in the heart of the Heritage landscapes of Mapungubwe.
Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, followed by an interactive view of the San Rock Art in the Northern Limpopoarea is shared with you. You will be guided by the phenomenal staff of the lodge as they share wonderful insights and knowledge with you.
Dinner is prepared in the Boma and served around the roaring fire centerpiece of this beautiful thatched lodge, set in the Mapesu Nature Reserve. Final overnight stay at this luxurious bush lodge, while you can wind down for the evening and bask in spacious bedrooms that provide a relaxing environment and comforts, with top quality mattresses and bedding for a good night rest!
Day 5:
Early morning start for our tour of Mapungubwe Hill inside Mapungubwe National Park, where an abundance of the magnificent baobab trees are found. Here you will see the splendid views of the Limpopo River, followed by a visual sight of the confluence of the Shashe River and Limpopo River. This is also where Botswana, Zimbabwe and South African borders meet.
Return back to the Lodge for a delicious lunch before setting out on the road by transfer back to Johannesburg city, for any onward connections or tours.
