This Game Reserve is located, a mere hour out of Johannesburg or Pretoria and offers the Gauteng residential corporate travelers the perfect bush conference setting, providing great facilities, superb catering and a variety of team building facilities and activities all well developed in the reserve.

The air-conditioned boardroom seats 36 delegates at the main venue and 25 at the sister venue. The Lodge offers outstanding accommodation but also the opportunity of interacting with Elephants, viewing the largest collection of Ox-Wagons in South Africa and superb dining and a welcoming environment with a cultural and historical background which provides a beautiful setting for both old and new theories, ethos and brain storming.

The Plumari Game Reserve and associated Lodges are a BEE entity level 2 meaning any spend earns you 125% BEE status points. Certificate available upon request.

Conference Options available through our African Chapter booking office:

Day Conference ( R515) pp includes arrival, mid-morning and mid-afternoon teas/ snacks and standard boardroom equipment and lunch.

24 hour Conference (R1320) pp includes 3 meals, accommodation and use of conference facilities and standard boardroom equipment.

The above Plumari Bush Conference excludes,

  • Beverages and drinks from bar/conference room, game drive and mini bar
  • Transport to & from the venue (this can be arranged);All further items of a personal nature
  • Gratuities and porterage and Data projector (can be hired at a cost of @ R700 per day); 
  • DVD/VCR combo with 74cm colour TV  (can be hired at @ R300/day).

Teambuilding Activities: (additional cost to a conference or event quotation - please enquire further if interested.)

Amazing ancestral race -  Out-plan, out think and out perform your peers utilising ancestral/ san bushman skills, minimum group 6 - approx 3  hours.

Archery - min group 5 (max 30) ,approx 1.5 hrs duration - R170 pp

Astronomy (outsourced to Simply Astronomy), rate on request according to numbers in group

Clay pigeon (skeet) shooting - personalized tuition/pointers by one of SA’s top Provincial or Springbok, in group 5 (max 30),  approx 2 hrs duration , R295

"Cooking up a storm -  group cooking competitions (ingredients supplied) – produce 3 course cuisine from a specified country , min group 6, approx 1-2 hrs, @ R195 approx 1-2 hrs 

Elephant experience - learn about, touch, feed, walk with through Game Reserve  - min group 6, approx 1 -2 hrs duration.

Fishing  - bass in natural spring/ lake area (must bring fly-rods and gear) – CATCH AND RELEASE, min group 4 (max 4) R170

Game drive, 4 of big 5 plus Hippos. Lions expected in 2007 , min group 6, approx 2 hrs duration R160
Golf -  18 hole course approx 20 mins, Quote upon request
Health/relaxation therapist - price list can be sent upon request

Hike/walk with historical - Hike through nature and learn about the richest historical site in SA, min group 6, approx 1-2 hrs duration R125

History museum - boer war, local area history, stone age tools, bushman carvings and largest private ox wagon/ cart collection in SA No charge

Horse-riding -  nature trails, min group 4  (max 10), • approx 1.5 hrs duration R185

Hot air ballooning on request through a variety of operators

Mountain biking  - must bring own bikes, trails through selected area of game reserve, approx 1-2 hrs @ R125, min 6 pax/max 20

Orienteering - tailored to suit needs, min group 6 (max 20),  approx 1.5 hrs duration R295

Paint-balling - in derelict farm building, min group 6 (max 16), approx 1 hr 20 mins R295

Quad-biking - through nature, beginners to experienced trails ,min group 6 (max 12), approx 1.5 hrs duration R450

Raft build & survive - team builds raft – strategise, planning, implementation & execution (over 2 sessions – model first and then final product) ,min group 6, approx 2.5 - 3 hrs (both sessions) R350

In addition a specialist team is used for more comprehensive teambuilding events/ days including replication of the MNET Survivor South Africa Media weekend program that was run at Plumari in May 2006.

Teambuilding objectives from the above activities are designed to cover the following areas:

• Comradeship / Team Event
• Bonding / Sensitivity to  Animal Behavioral Patterns
• Appreciation of Fauna & Flora / Ecosystem
• Implementation of Safety Procedures & its Consequences

WWF ramps up rhino safety with new anti-poaching campaign

WWF, the global conservation organization, has launched a campaign to raise support and funding for those rangers who put their lives on the line to protect Africa’s rhinos.  The month will culminate with a "Make Noise for Rhinos Day," during which WWF will ask people to dust off their vuvuzelas on Wednesday 22 September at 1 pm and make a noise with the horns in support of African rhinos.
